What to call about
Heating and air problems we connect you for
Each page explains common causes and what to check before a pro arrives.
Before you call
Before you call, try these three things
- Thermostat mode and batteries. Make sure it is on Cool or Heat, set well past the room temperature, and that the screen is not blank.
- Breakers and the shutoff by the unit. The outdoor unit has a disconnect box on the wall, and the indoor unit or furnace has its own switch. Both need to be on.
- Air filter. A filter caked with dust starves the system of air. That can freeze an AC coil or make a furnace shut itself off.
Questions
How this works
Is OK Heat & Air Pros an HVAC company?
No. We are a free referral line. Your call goes to an independent, local heating and air business that serves your area. That business does the work, quotes the price and answers for its own licensing and insurance.
What does the call cost me?
Nothing. The referral is free. You pay the provider only for work you approve, so ask about the service or diagnostic fee before the visit.
Which areas do you cover?
Choctaw, Nicoma Park, Harrah, Spencer and Jones in eastern Oklahoma County, plus McLoud and Shawnee in Pottawatomie County. Coverage depends on which providers are available.
How fast can someone get here?
That depends on the provider and the season. Heat waves and cold snaps are the busiest times. Mention if it is a no-heat or no-cooling situation so they can tell you what is possible.
My system is old. Should I replace it?
Not always. Ask the technician for the age of the equipment, the repair price and a replacement price in writing, then compare. Unless the system is unsafe, you have time to get a second opinion.
